Soundtrack/Music For the Short Film or Incidental Music

This is the soundtrack we used for our short film. We used a variety of the music to create an atmosphere and tension throughout the short film. For example: we used eerie music when we wanted the watchers to feel unsettled and uneasy whilst watching the short film, we used fast paced music to create suspense and have the watchers at the edge of their seats as they want to find out what happens.

Nature sound effects was used when characters were at the park to create the scene and pitch was lowered at some scenes to make watches feel uneasy.

We wanted to denote fear to our viewers so we chose music that would get the viewer's blood pumping as they watch and draw them at the edge of their seat. As a lot of the music we chose was fast-paced and shriekey this connotates tension as the viewers can expect something bad to happen to some of the characters on screen.

Audio will also be overlapped combined making an ominous atmosphere, symbolising the mysterious killer that the main characters are going to be up against in the short film.

We also used fast-paced horror music when we wanted to get the viewers drawn to the screen as they anticipate something dreadful is going to happen, keeping them drawn into our short film to find out what happens.

We used a variety of different music in our short film to keep viewers interested as keeping the same music soundtrack may seem boring so we put in a variety of different tracks.

The eerie music (for example: the 'Dark Cinematic music) used to create tension is something that the characters do not hear themselves. The music is a non-diegetic sound as it is not apparent in the scene itself. The characters are oblivious to whom is going to appear in the call but by the music the audience can tell that something bad is going to happen by the music connoted in the scene. We also added 'nature sound effects' that happen outside of the scene when the main character is looking out of the window. You as the audience hear the non-diegetic sound of birds chirping but the main characters can not hear this. This is meant connote that it is beautiful day outside due to the birds chirping and the lack of wind, etc.
