Sound Effects Gathered:
In our short film, we had a variety of different sound effects throughout it's duration. These sound effects are important as it helps engage the audience. It delivers information about the scene at hand and how we want the audience to feel. We have had sound effects such as a loud scream to startle the audience and catch them off guard.
I also put in horror build-up sound effects to make the atmosphere feel tense and suspenseful, making the viewers anticipate for something dreadful going to happen; this makes the short film more engaging as viewers would want to watch on to find out what happens next.
Sound effects used in the short film will be reverbed and the pitch lowered so that mood of the short film seems more unsettling and creepy.
Some sound effects were used in place when we couldn't capture clear audience when filming certain sections of our short film. For example, at the scene where I turned on the computer you could barely hear it turning on. I put a sound effect over this to make it sound clearer to the audience as you could barely hear this before.
We added sound effects such as: a A phone vibrating, a gun being shot, a person screaming, etc. These sounds come from the film itself making them diegetic sounds. They happen when the scene is taking place and the characters respond to these actions; for example: Maria gets a phone notification and she responds by picking it up and looking at the message. We got the sound effect of the phone vibrating and Maria picks it up. Another example of a diegetic sound is 'Friend 2' being shot caused by the sound of a gun firing. We put in the diegetic sound as he goes on screen to show to appear to the viewers that Friend 2 is being killed off. He is murdered by these guns shots and the characters respond to it by being horrified.
