Our short film is not going to have a large budget. We will get resources such as the equipment needed to record the short film (the camera, tripod, etc.) from the school needed to record for the short film as we ourselves cannot afford to pay for this equipment. They are also going to be providing us with lighting equipment and an SD memory card to save all the clips on that we recorded from our camera.
We are going to purchase equipment or things necessary for the production of our short film ourselves. For example, we are going to want props; as our short film is in the horror/thriller genre props such as: fake knifes, fake blood will be necessary to buy. Before screens cut to black, we would like to have a bit of fake blood but not dwell on the violence. The fake knife prop would be used when the killer is about to murder the main character.
More of our budget is going to be going toward costumes for other characters in the short film. We would like to buy a costume/ a mask for a character such as the killer in the short film so that they seem threatening and scary to the viewers.
For the short film, I would also like to buy a USB stick so we can download audio at home and transfer it over to the school not wasting anytime at school when we could be editing the video.
We would not have to buy anything extra for the Zoom call, as the majority of us can access an pre-existing webcam at home or use their mobile phones; however, we would need to buy a good screen recorder to record everything that we need on Zoom as a lot of free screen recorders have a time limit or have a present watermark.
Zoom also has a present time limit where we would have to upgrade to 'Zoom Pro' to have a longer meeting time, however, we are only going to be using Zoom for a short duration of time so if we go over the limit I believe that we should just create a new Zoom meeting to avoid this issue being present and spending more money.
For our actors, we are going to be giving them five pounds a day to record in our short film as the short film may take multiple days of recording across the week.
